Etihad launches A380 service to New York

New York’s Kennedy Airport on Monday became the third destination served by Etihad’s Airbus A380 aircraft.
The Abu Dhabi-based carrier landed its first A380 flight into JFK at 9:10 a.m. on Monday. The planes feature 415 seats in economy seats, 70 in business and nine in first class. They are highlighted by the Residence by Etihad, a three-room upper deck suite that comes with its own bedroom, living room and shower as well as a dedicated butler trained at the Savoy Academy in London and a private chef. One-way Residence tickets between New York and Abu Dhabi cost $32,000 for either one or two passengers.
Etihad is flying the A380 on one of its twice-daily flights between New York and the United Arab Emirates. The A380 flight leaves Abu Dhabi at 3:20 a.m., arriving in New York at 9:10 that morning. The return flight departs New York at 2:30 p.m. and arrives in Abu Dhabi at 12:15 p.m. the following day.
Etihad also flies to London Heathrow and Sydney with A380s, and service to Mumbai and Melbourne is schedules to begin in May and June, respectively.
